Cool Zero is steaming hot!

December, 2007 - On November 24, 2007 Cool zero performed for the last time as a support act for Golden Earring at the Wateringen 2007 concert. For about 14 months (!) the band did many support concerts with great success. As Golden Earring likes to support promising bands now another band will be choosen to take over this special job. However Cool Zero did a fine job and the dream of Alec Lokhoff (guitarist and Earring fan) has come much more than true. Not only performed he at least once on the big Golden Earring stage, his band has got a lot of promotion and the band enlarged their fanbase as well as thier skills by playing so much in front of a large audience! January 03, 2007 - After being asked for the Heineken Music Hall Show Cool zero will do more Golden Earring support acts in 2007. At least the Kerkrade and Enschede concerts will they do, maybe more shows!
November 10, 2006 Today I received great news from guitarist Alec Lokhoff. Cool zero is asked to do another support act for Golden Earring! They will be present at the Wateringen November 25, 2006 concert. This is one of the best support acts i've seen the last years and guitarist Alec Lokhoff is an long time Earring fan. His dream came true at the Wassenaar concert when they were asked to do one show as support, but now they have another chance. Give them a warm welcome and a great applause when they rock your socks off! Cool zero has steaming hot rock! If we support these guys maybe they will be asked for some more supports as well...! Wouldn't it be great if they could do the Heineken Music Hall???
September 30, 2006 - I just got home from the Golden Earring concert in Wassenaar and boy, did I have a great evening. When I entered the venue I noticed a new system on stage. This turned out to be a large sound system supplier but they do also rentals. There was a new mixer on stage, new great looking monitors, new lighting equipment and more. You could clearly hear the difference. A sparkling sound, great guitar solo's on top of the overall sound instead of drowning in it as I noticed several times over the last years. The band left Focus Show equipment apparently and now bought or rented a system from Bourgonje Sound sales and rental company On their site you'll find many many photo's from equipments they delivered...
But there was more that evening! I mentioned before the band Cool zero who was asked to do a support act for Golden Earring at Wassenaar. Amongst the band members is guitarist and Earring fan Alec Lokhoff. A nice person I met last month during a show from them in my hometown Zoetermeer. They felt honoured to be asked and were excited about playing in front of such an audience. They did a great job and played a fine and rocking set of their own numbers. Even fans who didn't hear from them yet were speaking about this support act afterwards. I guess this is a great support act for more Golden Earring shows. They are professionals and enjoy what they're doing. The joy they put in their playing can especially be seen in their second guitarist René Cas. Great solo's and what a stage performance. Great vocals by singer Sander van Son! But don't forget bass player Alex Heijkamp and drummer Theo Streng: a solid rhythm section which layed the foundation for the rest of the band. Backstage I spoke to all members again and promised them to send several of my pictures to them... Be sure to buy their debute cd called Life in Change at their concerts!
Guys you did rock! I don't say this because one of the bandmembers is an Earring fan but this is certainly one of the finest support acts Golden Earring had in years! Hope you'll be booked for more shows in the future! So Earring fans, give a big hand at Earring shows to these guys and be sure to look out for them if they are playing in your surroundings, just visit them and maybe they will be asked for some more supports as well...
August 12, 2006 - Yesterday I went to the Battle of the bands in my home town. There I met guitarist and Earring fan Alec Lokhoff. It was great remeniscing about the Golden Earring Paard concert we were both way back in 1997 but listening to the Cool Zero concert was even better. These guys really rock and although their first album (which can be heard on their Cool zero website!) is a little bit of pop-rock they now go more and more to the rock side Alec told me. Alec gave me their debute cd and I just finished listening to it. Cool Zero's debute album was recorded with producer Pieter Kop at the Sync Music Productions studio. The recordings were spread over 1,5 years and this debute cd is great with fine artwork and lyrics in the inlay. The album is called ‘Life in Change’ was released in 2005 and include 11 tracks of which This world is my favorite song, but listen to This time around, The stand and Life in change as well. The cd is for sale for only 12,50 euro. The band will be Golden Earring's support act for the Wassenaar show. Alec will be on the left side of the stage, but keep your eyes open for their other guitarist Rene on the right side of the stage as well. If you ask me they should be booked for more shows! Cool Zero is steaming HOT!

In Spring and Summer 2006 the band did work on new, more rock orientated songs. A new demo with 9 promising rock songs were recorded with own funds. At the moment negotiations with interested parties (including an international well known producer!) are going on for the recordings of a new single, to be recorded in Fall 2006. The Cool zero promotion tour did start in August again and the band could be seen on the 35th edition of the Popelucht Festival at Etten-Leur on August 13, 2006. More shows are booked!
