  • Just a dream, support act for Strijen 2001, 2002 and 2003 concerts.

  • Kiss. Another famous name now, but really a support act for Golden Earring in their early days. There's a famous story about Golden Earrings stage manager Maarten Baggerman forbidding Gene Simmons to spit blood on their (white Switch) stage. In the book "Kiss alive forever - The complete touring history" you can read that Kiss was 2 times the opening act for Golden Earring in New Jersey and Kansas. The first time was during the Hotter than hell tour on October 25, 1974 at the Capitol Theatre, Passaic, New Jersey.

Headliner act: Golden Earring, opening acts: Kiss and John Hammond. Promotor: John Scher Presents. Due to immigrations problems, original headliners Climax Blues Band canceled three days prior to the show. Blues guitarist John Hammond and Kiss where then added to the bill, and Golden Earring was moved up from their opening slot to that of headliner.

Second time was during the Dressed to kill tour on April 13, 1975 at Soldier's and sailor's Memorial Hall, Kansas, Kansas City. Headlining act: Golden Earring, opening acts: Kiss and Vitale's Madman. Attendance: 3,531, promotor: Cowtown productions. There's nothing more to read about the Earring. But it's nice to know that a famous band like Kiss was once the opening act for Golden Earring.
