2002 Don't Stop The Show (Indies label)
The Netherland's biggest rock legend Golden Earring was formed in the early sixties at The Hague. Their name was "The Golden Earrings" and ever since they scored big hits not only in The Netherlands but also in The USA. With songs like Radar Love and Twilight Zone they wrote history. Pictures of recent shows and from the beginning, television-fragments, interviews with bandmembers and many others which have been (or still are) concerned with the band, clips and home video's are giving a unique and multi-dimensional view of Golden Earring up 'till today. And their succes story has not yet ended, for Golden Earring continues making music and brings splashing live-shows.
Most of the Naked III Panama concert tracks are on the dvd and cd except for Johnny make believe and Twilight Zone.
From the 2004 Naked III recordings audio bonustracks can be found on the I've just lost somebody cdsingle releases part 1 and part 2! (Tracks are Twilight Zone, Johnny make believe and Save your skin)
2005 Golden Earring live at Rockpalast 1982! Release March 24, 2005.
This dvd shows the full-length tv recording of Golden Earring performing live June 1982 at the Sartory Sale, Cologne, Germany for Rockpalast. It was in 1982 broadcasted, edited in length, for German tv and later on rebroadcasted in full length. Note that the song Candy's Going Bad was called Candy's Going Back on the dvd. Twilight Zone is mentioned as When The Bullit Hits The Bone on the tv broadcast. This was the working title for the song at that time!
Live registration from their Back Home concert, recorded live June 23, 1984, at Groenoordhallen, Leiden, The Netherlands. This show was untill this dvd release only available on USA laserdisc and USA NTSC video.
Official Red Bullet dvd inlay text: Hot on the heels of Twilight Zone, in 1983 number 10 in Billboard, and 27 weeks in the single charts, with Cut, the corresponding album, going gold after 30 weeks on the album charts, 1984 was another banner year for Golden Earring.
It started in February 1984, in Holland where 'When The Lady Smiles' went to number 1 thanks also to the famous Dick Maas eo, 'uncensored', on this DVD, as well as the 3 other superb Golden Earring - Dick Maas video's: Twilight Zone, Clear Night Moonlight and Turn The World Around. Twenty years later, still undisputed as the best 4 video's to come ever out of Holland. By March 7, 1984, Golden Earring started their 11th (!) -and final, as we now know,- USA-tour, N.E.W.S., the album, was number 1 in Holland. The group did 27 shows together with 38 Special and 11 on their own, across the USA and Canada, from Toronto to Hawai. 'When The Lady Smiles' reached the number 76 spot on Billboard's single chart and went as high as number 3 in Canada, which country always has been extremely good to Golden Earring. Back in Holland, on June 23 1984, the Back Home tour (through Holland, Belgium and Germany), started with the legendary concert for a sell-out crowd in the Groenoordhallen in Leiden. Dick Maas and his crew were present to film the concert that became known as 'Live from the Twilight Zone', which was broadcasted in the USA by MTV, then still in it's early days.

The song Twilight Zone is not in the movie. There is a quick scene of someone dialing through radio channels and TZ is heard for a couple of seconds.
But there is an incredible amount of intrical weaving of story lines and George Kooymans reaches mythical stature. In the background story of the movie, fans of Rod Serling have combed through George's lyrics. They take his lyrics out of context, naturally, and apply them to their own beliefs. They believe that Rod Serling will be reincarnated and will lead a select group of actors into the *real* Twilight Zone; a place that Serling discovered accidentally while a soldier during World War II. This is about 15% of the movie plot. It is very complicated but rewarding for fans of cinema, music, and religions.
Secrets of the movie get revealed as the plot develops. Americans, with any sense of pop music, won't recognise George's name. His lyrics appear throughout the movie and only at the climax of the movie will it be understood that (this guy) George is the one that wrote Twilight Zone. It makes it incredibly interesting for a music fan to then go back through the movie and read the lyrics and see how they fit so coincidentally with the events that take place in the movie.
If you go to the Cultivision web site you can download the trailer for the movie and there is a ton of over explained plot lines that will continue to confuse things. There's really not much about George, unless you go to the "spoil the movie" section. I want to not give away all the neat intertwining twists, because that's when America meets Holland, George meets Rod, actor meets his destination, etc.
The best way to watch the movie is for the audience to *not* know that Rod Serling is the main focus of the movie and to *not* know that George is the author of Twilight Zone until the end. Unfortunately, the youth of today in America will not recognise the song Twilight Zone, anyway. But I'm sure that a Netherlandian will watch the movie and probably immediately recognise George's name.
I'm proud of how the movie came out. It looks really good, has some skilled actors performing the parts, and it can be very freaky. It was a labor of love and I've lost a lot of money making this, being that I was the producer, plus, I know I'll never even break even. But I did this to put people on a pedestal, people like Rod, George, and the others that make the movie so intriguing. Instead of me creating a fan web site to honor Serling/Kooymans/etc., I've put them into a fan movie.
Anyway, Casper, the main focus of the movie are the crazy people that follow Rod Serling and their attempts to find an eternal life through the alleged world of the Twilight Zone. GK is one of the subplot lines, and the GK fan at the end of the movie will be saying "cool."
