The Bad Candy project was started in 2002. Golden Earring frontman Barry Hay realised his idea of an all chick rockband finally. This song was played live already so if you have seen them on stage this catchy tune must sound familiair to you. Second track on their first single is Sweet revenge, an own composition from the girls!
BAD CANDY gave already over 40 concerts in Holland and Germany. The five girls are live pretty experienced yet, having their own stage and incredible lightshow. More concerts are announced!

For the clip of ‘Spin Around’ BAD CANDY went to London. Director Dani Jacobs filmed their clip in a typical British music store.

Thursday August 21st, 2003 marks the release of the second, long awaited Bad Candy-single: ‘That’s what girls do’. It's a fine, uptempo song which shows all of the qualities of this Dutch all girl rock formation. The song, written by Nina Ossoff and Richie Supa from Los Angeles is, na beluistering van ander werk van de vijf Hollandse muzikantes, on speciaal request by the American publisher Bok Music recorded by Bad Candy. ‘That’s what girls do’ will be released at the same time in Belgium, Duitsland, Danmark, Switzerland, Noorway, Austria, Sweden and Finland. De bijzondere, begeleidende videoclip is al enige weken op rotatie op MTV en TMF. De in Duitsland gefilmde clip laat zangeres Else Merit, sologitariste Ryanne, slaggitariste en zangeres Chantal, bassiste Janneke en drumster Stefanie zien in een wervelende aaneenschakeling van scènes, waarbij de meiden zich onder andere uitleven met go-karts, poolen, twee knullen in een pasfotohokje en liters verf… Na tal van interviews, radioshows, tv-shows en optredens in Duitsland, zal Bad Candy de komende tijd weer veelvuldig in ons land te zien zijn. Daarnaast wordt er momenteel hard gewerkt aan de eind oktober te verschijnen debuut-cd.
